The medical director, and “Dr,” Mark Steven Willner received his medical degree at The Universidad Autonoma De Ciudad Juarez Mexico…

Summer House is owned and operated by  Comprehensive Human Resources Inc. which is basically the Cook (Crook?) family, Ruth Ann “Rootie” Cook, Ronald “Ronnie” Gerard Cook, Marianne Cook, and Daniel Cook.

A check of Dade County Public Records shows the owner of the Summer House property to be Rodan Peoperties Inc, Dade County Property Tax Info Rodan Properties, Inc, “Summer House”

The state of Florida’s Corporate data base shows the registered agent to be Daniel Cook (last name sound familiar?)…with a business address located at Don Bailey Carpets….

Why would a detox facility that claims to run at a 100% census count (call them they’ll tell ya, if you don’t commit immediately, the bed will be “gone”), already gone?…

But I haven’t done nothing!

Anyway, why would a Detox facility, that claims it runs at 100% census, at an average price quoted right now at $700.00 a day, with a director who owns a 1/4 million dollar yacht, and owns a 1/2 million dollar house, owe years and years of back taxes?

Clearly there is a lot more going on here then meets the eye, and I will address all of this curiously underground information in a later blog, but for now let me tell you about the scam known as “Summerhouse Detox ”

Summer House Detox ?

They’ve never “helped” anybody..

I was there twice, once in 1996 when it was just me and my buddy Mike Starr…we’re both in the music biz…..

Mike was the Bass Player for the Seattle grunge band Alice in Chains and I’m a successful producer and indie record company executive (posting here under a pseudonym)…

Well they gave us the run of the place…Every night Mike and I we’re allowed free run of the town by Ruth Ann “Rootie” Cook, as she was directing operations back in the 90′s.

Mike and I took my brand new, white 1997 Mercedes Benz SLK, which “Rootie” allowed me to park right out front, down to South Beach…every night, picking up chicks and bringing them back to The Raleigh Hotel, or Summerhouse..for…well…you know…

No problem with “Rootie” (just keep payin’ the &700.00 bucks a day) Cook…

The medical director and “Dr” back then was Jules Tropp, and he was so sick with Cancer, “Rootie” had not only taken to dispensing the medication herself (even though she has no medical degree whatsoever, not a masters, a PhD, a doctorate, an RN, nor even an LPN)..she allowed Mike and I free run of the place, including out every night to party on South Beach…

Needless to say, nobody got much “Detox ” or therapy and Mike later died of an OD..sad day..as I went to his funeral and saw over 400 family members, band mates and fans cry…

I made a conscious choice to get clean myself, which I did with the help of an amazing Dr who was way ahead of his time Jack Schocoff, M.D, no thanks to “Rootie” (I’ll take your money) Cook….

Dr. Schocoff put me on a titration schedule of Buprenorphine, long before there was Subutex or Suboxone.

I’ve been clean for almost 15 years..but, I never forgave the Crooked Cooks…So I went back to “Summerhouse” over Thanksgiving 2008, undercover, as a writer for a health care fraud magazine for which I’m a contributor.

I stayed out of the sun for 3 months and stayed up very late nights so I would appear white pale skinned with circles underneath my drawn eyes…to top it all off, I gave up my sobriety for 1 day and took Oxycodone, so I could fail their Piss Test..all to look and test like a typical addict…

Of course when they saw me pull up in my 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS,

they were more than happy to have me…

even offering me the Summerhouse “Scholarship” what a S.C.A.M…(Summerhouse Cares About Money)…

And a guy paying $650.00 per day in cash…theres always room..

I found people sleeping on lawn chairs outside, as they were well over their state mandated census of 24 with 2 and sometimes 3 people sleeping in every room, except of course the room occupied by Burton, “Burt” (my wife relapsed again?) Boyle, the director of admissions..

Burt’s wife was there on a free ride..and she let everybody know it, wiggling her fat ass around in every guys face…and then telling us all who were paying $650.00-$750.00 per day; “my husband is Burt..he’s the director, so there are special rules for me..special food, special curfew, and my own private room”…

Needless to say this didn’t go over well with most of the “patients”..

I ran into one guy, who owned some pawn shops who told me it was his 27th time there…and he was PROUD of it..what a hustle…but it gets worse…

The “Dr” Mark Willner was OUT OF THE COUNTRY…

I swear..check his passport, Thanksgiving 2008..out of the country…

I’ve known Mark Willner for 30 years..he used to work for my brother and I..so when he came back to give the patients who had signed up on the board a week earlier their 3 minutes each…he spent almost an hour reminiscing about the old days with me…and about his recent trip to Europe..well of course this was no problem for old “Rootie” (I dispense narcotic and benzodiazepine medications without a license) Crook (I mean Cook, LOL)..

“Rootie” just handed out patient med orders like SHE was the DR, typing up the scripts which Willner (for his god knows what weekly under the table fee) happily signed upon his return from Europe (I was sworn to secrecy by Mark, but little did he know this was an undercover investigative journalistic operation)..

So next..yep..next..it actually GETS EVEN WORSE…there were 3 of us crowded into 1 small room..

1 young kid form California who was there on a 180 mg/day Methadone habit, in from California, they’ll give you that much per day…anyway this poor kid was in horrible withdrawals..and he had snuck all kinds of drugs into the place…

I really felt bad for him, this wasn’t the right place for him…clearly..180 mgs of Methadone ?..

He needed to be on a Methadone titration..but his dad was rich..and you know the old story..money talks,

Particularly to Rootie “Dr” FeelGood Crook, (I mean “Cook”) and her brother Ronald “Ronnie” Cook (Crook?).. and their partners in crime, Burt Boyle and Kyle Sarrecchia…

So this poor 19 year old kid, trying to come down off 180 mgs of Methadone  a day, is stuck on their “big deal narcotic cocktail” which is no more than 28mgs max of liquid Hydrocodone and a small dose of liquid Diazepam..

It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out..

They’re bound by federal law not to give anything stronger than a schedule III narcotic or benzo..

Just for verification, immediately upon leaving I had my blood and urine qualitatively analyzed..and yep..you guessed it, Hydrocodone and liquid Diazepam

But that didn’t nearly come close to holding this poor kid, he was in such painful withdrawals that while there he was constantly sneaking into the bathroom and taking his own drugs which he had sowed into the lining of his clothes, and who could blame in, the pain this poor kid was in…

But “Rootie” decided, the money was far more important than any stranger from California’s health…

Like as is the standard operating procedure at Summer House Detox ”Rootie” just figured she’d pocket the money and never see this poor kid again…

Unfortunately, as with Mike Starr, this story turns both ugly and morbid..

Patients had begun complaining, “if this kid can do his own drugs, why can’t I?”

So, I awoke two mornings later with a 100 lb German Shepherd Police drug sniffing dog in my bed ….ouucchh..

Thank god I had no drugs..

I was and am sober..but, when “Dr” Mark Willlner, my old buddy, returned from his fancy European vacation, he gave standing orders that if the kid continued being a discipline problem and complaining the nurses were to continually boot him up with Thorazine

Well, all the patients we’re shocked and appalled.

Now the poor kid becomes a walking zombie for as long as they can fleece his wealthy father in California out of his money..

And, believe it or not, it still gets worse….

I finished my research and was ready to leave, but I felt bad for the kid, so I told him and his dad late one night on a cell phone hidden from the staff, that this was not the correct place for someone on 180 mgs of Methadone…

And, as a matter of fact I recently called Summerhouse on my cell phone to see if they are still advocating they can remove a long term methadone maintenance problem with liquid Hydrocodone and they told me “oh, sure , 14-21 days max and we can totally detox anybody off of Methadone..”..

This from some kid with no medical degree after midnight on a call on Friday night…all I could find out is his name is “Mike” he’s not a doctor or even a nurse, but when they smell money they don’t care, they’ll allow a laymen to give medical assessments, advice and dictate protocols…

But I’m straying off topic….

When they heard they might lose this $700.00/day, they had the outright gall to tell this kids father “Oh, don’t let him leave, the problem is the guy giving him the info, HE’S A GAY PREDATOR AFTER YOUR SONS ASS…

I swear they told him this…well, I’m a progressive liberal and have nothing against anyone of any sexual orientation, whether it be gay, strait, bi-sexual or trans-gendered, not to mention african americans, native americans, or bears for that matter…

I’ve been happily married to the same woman for 33 years!..

Well, my wife called this mans father and set his mind at ease and we’ve become good friends since..but THE NERVE OF THESE PEOPLE AT SUMMERHOUSE…ANYTHING FOR THE MONEY!

I later found out that it was Kyle, (the fat f##k) Sarrecchia who had told them this…a little investigation told me the following:

Kyle, you see, had bought his home in Hollywood Florida in early 2008 at the height of the real estate boom, just before the crash..perpetrating an ages old scam, this “genius” put nothing down, taking 110% financing from the seller and actually walking from the closing with cash, an old real estate swindlers hustle and con game a lot of people used to pull during the sub prime mortgage crisis…….

Unfortunately, for “Kyle” I’m a fat fuck Sarrecchia, when the real estate market came crashing down around him within 6 months, he found himself in a house with a mortgage 150% of it’s value..

So of course he’s gonna say anything to keep anyone he’s getting paid his commission on there at “Summer House”..

This story also has an unfortunate ending…of course this young man, who became my friend, did not get the help he needed and left after 24 days in severe Withdrawals….

He had no choice but to go back on Methadone….only now, his system wasn’t used to the large dose..and ..yep..he also died…

As a matter of fact there are so many people who have died after leaving Summerhouse, I was told that although every wall is covered with a picture of a dead former “client” they have 1000′s more in an office (read old abandoned left over from 1992′s Hurricane Andrew FEMA trailer, that they illegally attached to their building)..

To summarize; we have 1000′s of dead addicts, a second generation of the “Cook” family still pulling the same SCAM (Summerhouse Cares About Money)..two dead friends…20 grand out the window for me and 30 grand for my friend Louis V J…

A “Dr” with his MD from that bastion of higher learning, The Universidad Autonoma De Ciudad Juarez, MEXICO  UNDER INDICTMENT FOR A 200 MILLION DOLLAR MEDICARE FRAUD CONSPIRACY (“Dr” Mark Willner, the “medical director”)…

Laymen giving medical advice at 1 AM on Saturday morning, people sleeping on lawn chairs…

Drug sniffing police dogs in your bed…

Burt (my wife relapsed again) Boyles wife in a free private room…

Kyle Sarrecchia telling anyone who he can fleece out of money for his 150% mortgage “it’s not your child, it’s THE GAY PREDATOR who’s after him/her”…

And of course THORAZINE for methadone patients to keep them WALKING ZOMBIES and under dosing everyone else so you leave in painful withdrawals…

Yes, the information behind all this IS TROUBLING, and maybe even dangerous, as we’ll be shaking some pretty powerful trees, as well as barking up the same…

However, I made a commitment to my the memories of my dead friends, Mike Starr, his family, friends and fans…

As well as my other dead friend, Alex L. Johnson, and his father Louis….

All these poor addicts had one thing in common, they trusted the “Summer House Detox“ SCAM, and they died in the process…

With those hundreds of pictures on their walls of other former clients who have passed away, my guess is after publishing I’ll be hearing from numerous people with similar horror stories…

I promised I’d publish my opinion, and the facts I learned of  the “Summer House Detox“ SCAM, and no matter how dirty it gets, or dangerous the trail leads, (and believe me, it gets down and dirty) I plan on completing this article, and the next one, and the next one, and the petition, and perhaps affect some positive change…
